CAMAU CYNTAF

Exhibited / Performed at tactileBOSCH Studios in Llandaf North.

Camau Cyntaf (Welsh for First Steps) was created after Becky, as an adult, had discovered that her mother had kept her baby teeth.  This was during her third and final year of her undergraduate degree in Theatre Design.  The performance installation consequently responded to the odd yet sentimental values placed on infant objects, hand prints, casts of baby hands and feet, old toys etc.  The performance installation incorporated lullabies sung live by Cor CF1 choir, arranged by their conductor Eilir Owen Griffiths.  It  took the audience on a journey through several stages of early childhood, from babies' lullabies to toddlers' chaotic birthday parties.
